Learning resources for grownups

Connections Academy

Connections Academy can be useful for parents, especially during this prolonged period of school closure. Most of the parents I know that mom talks to are NOT teachers, and many work full time jobs that are so demanding that they really reply on the teachers during those school hours to educate the kids. I actually learned a thing or two while mom is reading on here, like what “curriculum” is, what a sample lesson looks like, and what is to be expected of my siblings at each grade level. There are many resources to connect to other parents, teachers and students, so the help is really at your fingertips.

NASA’s Media Library

If you are like me who loves staring up the sky, you will probably love those imagines captured by NASA. I know my sister has a telescope, but I still loves seeing these pictures captured from the ease of mom’s laptop or dad’s cell phone. I hope you will enjoy them, too! And oh,some of these images are now free to download, so they can be a great way to change up your desktop pictures.

Montessori Services

I believe many parents have heard of Montessori by the time their children are in preschool, but did you know that Montessori also has a powerful website? Of course, there are topics on how to establish good reading habits with the littles, but there are also other topics the site discusses and share useful information with, such as: baking, woodworking, yard and garden work, clearing and organizing, and so much more. I see mom teach and reinforce the self-care tips with my siblings ever since they were two years old, and now that my sister is in school, she is very (and I mean very!) independent. My brother still has more to work on, but he is quite a helper when it comes to laundry duty or yard work, too!
